MicroNOC, and how the series started

The event exists because the company does. Both started from the same observation: the grid is not short of energy, it is short of intelligence.

2016
Founded to balance supply and demand
MicroNOC was established to close the gap between when power is generated and when it is wanted, using real-time demand visibility and control. A Cleantech Open semi-finalist in its first year.
2018
Selected by PG&E, approved by the CPUC
Shortlisted by PG&E to provide grid balancing from behind-the-meter resources, CPUC approved, with CAISO participation. The metering was built, utility-tested and verified for settlement-grade accuracy.
2019
The CSR series begins
The first CSR Clean Energy event ran a two-to-three hour program followed by a tour and dinner. The Bizcation format — a resort, the families, and the rest of the week — came a few years later.
2025
Taiwan, and then Texas
The 2025 edition ran in Tamsui, New Taipei, under the line “Power Deals. Island Feels.” It brought together Taiwan, Korea and the United States. 2026 moves to Round Rock.
